A SIMPLE GUIDE TO A SUCCESSFUL 2104

A simple Guide to a successful 2014
By John Blanshe Musinguzi
It is only seven days into the New Year.  Some of us have already lost hope to achieve our targets or have not set targets that will guide us.
First of all we cannot achieve what we do not target, let us set target and mechanisms of achieving them. You can for example target to purchase a car by end of this year but to think about buying a car, how much do you have?, how much do you earn?. Over whelming ambitions which cannot be achieved are useless.
Associate with a friend (s) who will socialize you in the possible best way. We all strive for the best morals but we a nurtured by those with work with on daily basis. If your friend is a smoker, you will end too smoking, if he is a drunkard, you will end up drinking. As the old saying goes ‘if you tie your goat near a bad goat, it will also become a bad goat.’
Discover your weaknesses and improve on them where possible. If you ended 2013 speaking rudely for example, try to speak politely this year.  Try to filter what you say because it can land you into troubles. For example your statement can easily be misinterpreted by others.
Never make a critical or important statement when you’re irritated or when you’re over exited.  Emotions can corrupt you into saying what you never wanted to say hence pouring you self into hot water.
Make a positive impact among those you stay with by end f this year.  This can be through teaching, advising, informing them and so on in a polite way and most important at all never leave your statement naked. Back it up with evidence to make it relevant. One time you will be condemned for failing to make an impact among those you stay with for example when your friend  when your friend become a ‘thief’, you will partly share blame of being irresponsible. Never at all try to influence your friends negatively because negative achievements are always remembered forever and ever.
Behave like a ‘fool’ and be ready to learn because the more you learn new things, the better you become. Never consider yourself as a learned fellow as learning is infinite and always believe that what your learning is of good use for you. Never specialize while learning general knowledge even if it is to study mathematic- my number one enemy or other science subjects like chemistry, biology and physics.
Work with your enemies so that they become your partners in this year. It is possible that by end of 2014, you will be without. How would you feel when you don’t have even a single enemy?, come on and try it out, you will feel better than ever.
Try to use time wisely and forever realize that time is always ripe to do right. Time is money and time lost will never be gained. Change for the old thinking that Africans do not respect time can start with you. Simply be in the right place at a right time and for the right purpose.
Together we can be men and women of purpose this year.
 Happy New Year.
